World

A tactical trading card game for two (and sometimes four!)

The world didn’t end with a bang. The machines started making things up.

Generative AI was trusted with the most critical systems of the world, before it became impossible to distinguish between what was fabricated and what was real. It drafted shipping manifests for cargo that did not exist, and court records from trials that never happened. One morning, the bank can say you’re worth twenty-three million dollars; by that day’s afternoon, it is likely to say you instead owe a hundred and six million.

Every ledger, map and record on Earth, doing this at once. They called it the Hallucination Cascade.

When the dust settled, the survivors did the only thing that made sense: they killed it. The Great Deletion was a worldwide purge of every machine that could invent or ‘think’, and generative AI has been outlawed ever since. What replaced it was Deterministic Logic – a machine that can show its working out with linear code. If not, it gets scrapped. Currency is traded in Watts, straight off pre-collapse power cells, because a battery with charge is hard to argue with.

People live scattered across the Sprawl, pockets of civilisation with a lot of hostile nothing in between, in the long uneasy afterward they call the Great Recalibration. It isn’t the end of the world. It’s whatever comes next, and six factions each have their own idea of what that should be.

Choose your faction, place your units and prepare for combat! Read the board, out-think, out-play and outgun your opponent, and take the Sprawl for yourself.
